Characterized primarily by their thick armor and incredible weapon arsenal, Heavy Tanks are best suited for the frontlines and heavy skirmishes. Compared to the speedier Light Tank and the versatile Medium Tank, Heavy Tanks are built to become juggernauts through and through. However, just what are the best Heavy Tanks in World of Tank Blitz?

Updated December 30, 2022, by Rhenn Taguiam: Heavy Tanks remain one of the most efficient tank types in World of Tanks Blitz, boasting heavy artillery and extreme protection in favor of speed and mobility. Designed to outgun and outlive their faster Medium and Light counterparts, Heavy Tanks remain a favorite of those who want to wreak havoc on the battlefield with as little effort as possible. However, players need to choose this kind of tank wisely as their speed limitation gives them a huge disadvantage if enemies know how to maneuver them. In turn, players may want to consider trying a German tank that specializes in defending small spaces, a maneuverable English tank, a pair of Soviet powerhouses, and even an American juggernaut.

15 E-100 (Germany)

Thanks to its sheer size, the E-100 from Germany remains one of the most solid Heavy Tank options in World of Tanks Blitz gameplay. Due to its scattered shielding, the E-100 works best when outmaneuvering other tanks in populated close quarters, such as in towns, right before taking opponents out as they fail to strike back. This makes the E-100 rather excellent in holding positions, as the natural defenses of their points make them easily able to outpace their enemies, especially World of Tanks Blitz Tank Destroyers.

However, despite having massive damage and massive armor, knowing its weak spots make the E-100 extremely fragile. Its mobility isn’t as great except when facing in close quarters, which is the perfect way to cover up its weaknesses in the lower glacis and turret cheeks.

14 T110E5 (America)

Despite being rather massive in scale, the T110E5 from the USA started as one of the strongest-hitting Heavy Tanks in World of Tanks Blitz gameplay, with performance ranging on the higher ratings that it received quite the debuff in recent months. However, while the T110E5 now suffers from the worst reload rate and DPM among its contemporaries, the vehicle remains no slouch in overall performance.

Players looking for a more “classic” vehicle might appreciate the T110E5’s straightforward handling and incredible armor. Despite not having the firepower to contend with other World of Tanks Blitz Medium Tanks and outmaneuver other vehicles, its build allows it to withstand some heavy hits. At the hands of the right player, the T110E5 can easily become a reliable support Heavy Tank.

13 IS-7 (USSR)

Players looking for a challenge in their World of Tanks Blitz experience might want to consider dabbling into the IS-7. This Heavy Tank from the USSR is rather mobile despite its weight, making this a nifty scouting tank for most team missions. However, where it misses the mark is its rather weak lower plate and heavily inaccurate main gun, making it reliant on close-range incursions to get the job done. Unfortunately, its exposed lower plate also makes the IS-7 rather vulnerable up close, forcing players into a tight spot.

However, fans who know how to navigate around these setbacks can transform the IS-7 into a brutal juggernaut. First and foremost, its slanted front armor makes it especially hard to kill afar. Combined with its mobility, the IS-7 is a terrifying enemy to outpace from a distance. Players who know how to reposition the IS-7 to an advantageous spot quickly can make quick work of enemies before they realize the glaring risks the IS-7 is taking with this distance.

12 IS-4 (USSR)

Fans of World of Tanks Blitz gameplay looking for an all-rounder while still boasting the usual defenses of a Heavy Tank might want to try the IS-4 of the USSR. Compared to its more mobile evolution, the rather sluggish IS-4 doesn’t boast speed but rather sheer defense. Its armor profile is generally decent, with almost all its sides and angles having great defenses. Its hull and side profiles remain consistently fortified, whereas its armored front makes it practically invincible, especially against the weaker World of Tanks Blitz Light Tanks.

Moreover, the IS-4 has good HEAT penetration and decent top speed, making it an effective asset in the field. If players figure out a way to maneuver past its mediocre gun stats and maximize its DPS and handling, then the IS-4 can become a good first tank for Heavy Tank dabblers.

11 FV-215B (England)

While the FV-215B (183) iteration is one of the best tanks in World of Tanks Blitz gameplay, its predecessor the FV-215B remains no slouch either. This British Heavy Tank is one of the best in terms of DPM, penetration, and accuracy among its class despite its initial nerf. Not only that, it pairs decent turret armor with decent acceleration and speed, making it one of the easiest-to-maneuver tanks out there.

However, players do need to be careful with a few setbacks that this tank offers. Its sides are especially vulnerable to damage, which doesn’t help that it gets attention easily with its big frame. Not only that, despite its speed, it still has a limited top speed that makes it easy to outmaneuver.

10 WZ-111 5A (China)

While some players of World of Tanks Blitz may not necessarily rely on a lot of Chinese Heavy Tanks due to their weaker armor, the WZ-111 5A is an exception to the list. While it suffers from poor HP and a rather small view range, its decent penetration and overall damage make it quite a competent fighter for beginners, especially those used to tanks in games like Minecraft.

This Heavy Tank is easily a recommended Heavy Tank for beginners due to its decent base damage and speed. Not only that, but its heavy armor paired with its flexibility allow the WZ-111 5A to become an ever-reliable vehicle for beginners to use, especially to practice getting in and out of various positions.

9 O-I (Japan)

Players craving for more maneuverability with their tanks in World of Tanks Blitz might appreciate the firepower potential offered by the O-I from Japan. Similar to tanks in war anime, this unit boasts a high turret that makes it an ideal unit from the backlines.

At its core, the O-I’s high turret is its shining factor, especially considering how this allows players to shoot past cover and allied tanks and attack enemies from afar. Not only that, but the ability to choose between a 15cm and 10cm gun allows players to fully customize the level of aggression their O-I would have on the battlefield, allowing them to tailor their combat style to their team’s needs.

8 T29 (USA)

Despite its lackluster base stats, the T29 from the USA is already impressive enough as a beginner-friendly unit for those who want to get acclimated to using Heavy Tanks in World of Tanks Blitz. Unlike other Heavy Tanks, the T29 is rather versatile enough due to its nature.

At full capacity, the T29 has impressive reload and impressive mobility unlike other tanks in the same tier class. Not only that, its 10-degree gun depression allows the T29 to work more complicated angles, giving it an advantage in terms of maneuverability.

7 Super Conqueror (Britain)

Sometimes, all it takes for a tank in World of Tanks Blitz to be considered a force to reckon with is incredible armor, and the Super Conqueror from Britain certainly doesn’t disappoint.

At its core, the Super Conqueror already boasts decent base damage and an incredible rate of fire for its class, allowing it to outmaneuver a lot of Heavy Tanks in terms of straight combat alone. However, where the Super Conqueror shines is its well-protected armor and all-around armor coverage, ensuring that the vehicle remains protected against flanks and making it a decent tank on the front lines.

6 E100 (Germany)

Due to the nature of Heavy Tanks in World of Tanks Blitz, it’s easy for players to assume that these tanks are rather slow and sluggish to support their defensive advantages. This isn’t the case with E100 from Germany, given its decent all-rounder stats.

At its core, the E100 has one of the largest HP pools of the tanks in both its series and category, allowing the E100 to become a flexible sub-tank or damage dealer. Not only that, its track protection armor allows the E100 to reach difficult locations quickly and even hit-and-run Light Tank foes with killer shots when maneuvered properly.

5 AMX 50-B (France)

One of the most surprising tanks in World of Tanks Blitz comes in the form of extremely maneuverable and speedy juggernauts - particularly when it comes from heavy classes. This is exactly the case with the AMX 50-B from France, as it’s arguably one of the fastest Heavy Tanks out there.

Relying mostly on its speed than its other stats, the AMX 50-B can easily outclass the usually-fast Light Tanks on the battlefield. Moreover, its 4-round autoloader allows the AMX 50-B to dish out shots fairly quickly, allowing it to become a means to destroy the enemy’s frontlines when maneuvered properly.

4 T57 (USA)

Players who got accustomed to using Heavy Tanks in World of Tanks Blitz know that maximizing their use has everything to do with dominating through defense and firepower, similar to the objectives of WW2 games. The T57 from the USA knows this, boasting some of the best balance between aggression and defense in the game.

At its core, the T57 already boasts a decent HP pool. However, where it shines is its other components, such as an oscillating turret and its impressive accuracy. Due to these elements, the T57 can navigate ridges and hills much easier, allowing it to overcome otherwise-complicated angles and dish out surprise attacks against various foes.

3 Object 279 (USSR)

Players who are more than willing to complete a huge portion of the World of Tanks Blitz campaign deserve the equally-boastful Object 279 from the USSR as a reward. At its core, this Heavy Tank boasts a remarkable all-around nature that makes it quite a decent unit to bring in most situations, perfect for lovers of diverse WW2 games. At its core, the Object 279 boasts a well-armored front turret that allows players to confidently strike from within the front lines.

Not only that, it offers excellent mobility for a Heavy Tank, and players can take the Object 279 for a tour to reach critical positions rather quickly. Players do need to pay attention to its flank-prone weak side and rear defenses. However, players who play into the frontline advantage of the Object 279 may never have to worry about other tanks trying to get the best of it.

2 MAUS (Germany)

Perhaps the pinnacle of defense across Heavy Tanks in World of Tanks Blitz, the MAUS from Germany is arguably the “tankiest” of defenders in the game. Due to its weight, the MAUS certainly lacks speed and mobility.

However, as it currently boasts the most hit points so far with an incredible rear defense that other tanks don’t often have, the MAUS is a juggernaut to deal with on the defense. This advantage is especially apparent once players decide to have this defend critical areas on the map since most enemy fire won’t be able to tear through the MAUS as efficiently as they thought.

1 VK100.01 (Germany)

For players who simply want a tank in World of Tanks Blitz that imposes impenetrability, the best is the VK100.01 from Germany. Aside from its already intimidating “plain” appearance, the VK100.01 boasts the most HP among its other Tier 10 tan counterparts. It has above-average HP and view range, as well as rather immense damage potential when aimed properly. While its DPM is relatively low, it’s the defensive potential where VK100.01 shines the most.

Not only that, but the ridiculous surrounding armor and the sheer large ammo capacity make the VK100.01 either the perfect defender or a juggernaut of a vanguard that will impose authority over the front lines, which is favorable for fans of intense WW2 scenarios.

World of Tanks Blitz is available for the PS4, Android, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
