There is a whole range of other fantastic games that are similar to Gang Beasts. Each offers something different for various game groups, from arena brawlers that anyone can pick up to games that require more coordinated teamwork and communication.

9 Pummel Party

Imagine Gang Beasts meets Mario Party, that’s exactly what Pummel Party is. Here, up to 8 players will engage one another through a series of minigames to see who the real MVP of the group is.

The central idea around Pummel Party is the board mode. Players will move from one minigame to the next whilst collecting an arsenal of weapons to leverage the playing field, be it a shotgun, eggplant bomb, or tactical cactus disguise. The game supports local and online fun and is a great way of bringing people together. But remember, there can only ever be one supreme winner.

8 Stick Fight: The Game

Super Smash Brothers combined with aggressive ninja stick figures, Stick Fight: The Game has players duke it out in an arena to see who is the last one standing. As the melee ensues, weapons will descend from the sky, allowing players to acquire them immediately and wreak havoc on each other (or themselves).

What’s fun is that the level design is quite dynamic. From snowy biomes with deathly icicles to levels where one player can evolve and become a huge beast, changing the entire fight into a boss battle as the other players team up to destroy the big boy. The game transitions quickly after a round ends creating intense and hilarious deathmatches that will have players come back over and over again.

7 Human Fall Flat

Similar to the strange physics from Gang Beasts, Human Fall Flat offers a coop (up to 8 players!) experience where everyone must work together to solve puzzles to progress through the level and reach the exit.

Instead of battling it out to see who reigns supreme, players will be scratching their heads wondering which platform to activate and how to overcome massive obstacles. The game encourages exploration and destroying objects, which is an absolute delight. Meanwhile, the game currently offers 20 official levels so far and that isn’t including the amount of modded maps created by the community.

6 Crab Game

Inspired by the hit TV show Squid Game, Crab game has players compete in a series of minigames that ultimately play as a drawn-out battle royale where only one is victorious. The game pits up to 35 players against each other through 9 different game modes and 28 maps.

Like Squid Game, each round is a different take on a particular children’s game. That said, the game is free to play! That means friends can spend countless hours figuring out who is the apex amongst them without breaking their bank accounts.

5 Brawlhalla

Another title similar to Super Smash Brothers, Brawlhalla has players knock each other off the map and the last one standing wins the round. Like its spiritual predecessor in some senses, weapons and gadgets will fall from the sky and the game offers several modes: 1 vs 1, free-for-all, and a different mode each week.

However, this game takes it up a notch. Should players get into the game, they can have the option of joining clans that can share experience points. Characters also have different stats which can be modified using stances in-game, offering new dynamic options for competitive play. Another free-to-play game, Brawlhalla is a game that has aged with grace. As of March 2022, the game has more than 50 million players worldwide.

4 Enemy On Board

A free-to-play social deduction game akin to Among Us, Enemy On Board is an online (6 vs 2) social deduction game where players must work together to complete objectives to save their ship in peril. Objectives require more than one person to complete and therein lies the problem, for 2 out of the 8 crewmates are secretly aliens.

At the beginning of the game, players will select characters that have unique traits and abilities that resonate with their style. Players will also be able to collect a variety of weapons and tools along the way in the event they come face to face with an imposter. With a passionate team behind it and an ever-growing player base, Enemy On Board continually brings out inner trust issues and our never-failing ability in making horrible judgments.

3 Rocket League

Football/soccer meets Hotwheels. That’s exactly what Rocket League is. The game has up to 8 players assigned to two teams who use their vehicles to score goals against the opponent. Each game lasts approximately 5 minutes with sudden death overtime if the points are tied.

Players will be able to choose from a whole list of vehicles and will be able to receive power-ups throughout each match. Powerups can range from speed boosts to magnetizers, which draw the ball towards the player. The game is a real blast and has even been adopted as an esport.

2 Rubber Bandits

Rubber Bandits is a hilarious and crazy party brawler for 1-4 players. Players take on the role of bandits who must avoid traps, escape the cops, hinder other bandits, and grab the loot to commit the perfect heist. The player who bags the most amount of loot and escapes before the timer runs out is the winner.

Players will choose from a vast array of cute, sneaky bandits and use a variety of weapons to blast at their opponents. With multiple locations available, players can freely bash and bonk their friends without things getting stale.

1 Party Animals

Although not fully released, Party Animals looks to be the next best physics-defying brawler game. Players get to choose from a list of cute, fluffy animals before being deployed in a bloody arena. The game currently has announced two main modes which are last stand, a free-for-all brawl, and snatch squad which features an objectives-based, capture the flag approach.

During its earlier demo, the game became the fourth most played game on Steam and garnered a massive following on Twitch. Therefore, this game should be on anyone’s watch list.
