Does the film live up to the show? As a longer episode, it does. Fans of the cartoon will certainly find a lot to love about the film. It’s almost hard to narrow down a list of the most hilarious quotes in The Bob’s Burgers Movie but these picks have to be near the top.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
8 “Summer Gene Is Gonna Be Topless 24/7.”
This line could not have been said by anyone other than Gene in The Bob’s Burgers Movie. He is quite vocal about undressing in the cartoon. Clothes are constricting to a musical artist such as himself.
He brings this point up when the three Belcher siblings are discussing their plans for the summer. Louise wants to make sure no one thinks of her as a baby and Tina wants to get a summer boyfriend via Jimmy Pesto Jr. Gene’s goals seem like the most obtainable.
7 “Shall We Champump Our Way Out Of Here?”
After the sinkhole erupts in front of the restaurant, Mr. Fischoeder, aka Calvin, and his family, Felix and Grover, pull up on a golf cart. They are chugging champagne via a pump. When things start to get uncomfortable with the Belchers since Bob doesn’t want to pay rent, Felix chimes up with this line. Champump is a fun play on words which this series is known for. It’s a funny cartoon, but above all else, Bob’s Burgers is clever with its puns.
6 “Babies Come Out Of Holes, They Don’t Go Into Them.”
This was an odd line said by the melted Kuchi Kopi in Louise’s dream. Kuchi Kopi is trying to pump Louise up to explore the sinkhole. It’s a weird analogy he is trying to paint for Louise but it is funny all the same.

When Louise decided to go into the sinkhole, in reality, she tells Tina and Gene this line about babies and holes as well. They’re just as confused about it as Louise was in the dream, which was the point of this joke. Later on, the sinkhole is referred to as a “Crime Hole,” which is related and equally hilarious.
5 “Gene, I Hope We Did Good On That Math Homework Because I Was Really Winging It.”
There is a lot to unpack with this line from Linda. First, she did Gene’s homework, which is already a terrible lesson to teach a child. Two, she didn’t even try hard to make it look good. She’s just as bad of a student as Gene is and she’s the parent.
The two of them have a great dynamic together in the cartoon as they like a lot of similar things. They are both positive, love to make jokes, and sing. They’re the perfect mother and son duo despite some odd choices regarding homework.
4 “Oooooh No.”
It would take too much time to fully quote Bob in this part of the movie. There is one scene in particular where he breaks down completely. The bank rejecting their loan lean was strike one. Strike two was the sinkhole opening up. Strike three was the discovery of the body, meaning that the crime scene would put them out of business for a lot longer.
Bob just keeps saying “Oh no” in different tones throughout a long montage. The best part is when Bob and Linda are going to bed and Bob tries to convince Linda that he put on a brave face in front of the kids, despite saying “Oh no” for hours on repeat.
3 “Bob, Grab Your Meat.”
Teddy is always trying to inject himself into the Belcher‘s lives whenever he sees an opening. When Bob is in crisis mode, worrying about the business, Teddy suggests selling burgers at the wharf. He even builds a burger cart for him.

To test out the customer experience, Teddy tells Bob to grab his meat so that he can cook it. His phrasing leaves a lot to be desired though. Bob’s response is equally as great, “Please don’t shout that.” The Bob’s Burgers Movie manages to sneak in a few risqué jokes.
2 “Ooo Buttons, You Know What I Like To Do With These.”
This is another great line from Gene. The kids follow Felix to the wharf toward the climax of the movie. Upon entering the secret ride’s lair, Gene discovers a bunch of buttons and starts pressing them. The joke implies that Gene likes to metaphorically push people’s buttons in real life. Among the three children, that is especially true for Gene.
He’s the type of kid that won’t take no for an answer. This usually leads to him learning a life lesson in the cartoon. In this case, he learns that some secret buttons lead to murder dungeons.
1 “This Is Like The Worst Rave Ever.”
The final best line in The Bob’s Burgers Movie goes to Gene as well. He says this while the whole Belcher family is trapped in their crab car, buried in the dirt. Louise is trying to light up her Kuchi Kopi but it keeps going out. The flashes remind Gene of a rave, thus the joke.
No one wants to attend a rave while getting buried alive. It’s not just the worst rave ever according to Gene. It’s also the last rave ever for someone in this scenario. Thankfully, Bob is able to think on his toes and save his family in the end. Gene can now attend a real rave of his own someday.
