The Splitgate community is one that enjoys memes, and lots have been made about the game that adds a funny side to it, rivaling the best memes about other tactical shooting games.
6 When Splitgate Goes Down
No player enjoys it when their favorite game goes down for an unspecified amount of time, and Splitgate players are no different. Splitgate users often struggle from high-queuing times, and usually, this can be a build-up to the game going down for a little while. Practice makes perfect when it comes to Splitgate, so not being able to can reasonably irritate players.
With Seasons and a Battle Pass, players understandably get worried when they are unable to play the game while the time of the Season continues to deplete. Usually, the game devs will extend the Season if the game has spent a period of time down, which is only reasonable.
5 When Is Splitgate Battle Royale Coming?
Splitgate has long been meant to update with a Battle Royale mode, but players are, unfortunately, still waiting for it. The Battle Royale genre changed gaming, so it’s no surprise that a lot of Splitgate’s player base wants to see them tackle the mode.

A Battle Royale mode would be interesting, as the Maps in the game have proven to be quite popular and well-designed, so a huge one would be a worthy challenge for the devs to take on. The portal mechanic would also make traversal across the Map much more fast-paced than a lot of other Battle Royale games can manage, and could very well be the feature that blows up the game to a much more popular status overall.
4 Evade And Pray
Splitgate can get very fast-paced sometimes, and beginners especially may find that they get overwhelmed when suddenly thrust into a close-quarters-combat situation with an enemy player who is more experienced. In that case, a lot of players portal away as quickly as they can, so long as they remembered to set up a portal earlier on before getting into the firefight. Sometimes, the best Splitgate weapon is the portals themselves.
Every player knows the pain of having to randomly portal away only to find that they didn’t portal far enough and still meet their demise. Random portaling can actually be a decent strategy for players that have higher sensitivity and are experienced. Fast, unpredictable movement and the use of portals can be a very effective way to get out of firefights that players are losing in.
3 Jumping Out Of Danger Like Star-Lord
For beginner Splitgate players, it can often be better to portal out of a difficult fight rather than persevering. Portaling away can seem like a funny maneuver to do in the middle of a fight. Randomly being there shooting at an enemy only to disappear with a portal closing behind is meme-able, and because of the use of portals in many different TV shows and films, Splitgate can be compared to quite a lot of other franchises.

Star-Lord famously portals away with the help of Dr. Strange during a fight with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The shot of him jumping back into a portal with his finger up has spawned countless memes, so it was only a matter of time before the Splitgate community claimed it as their own.
2 Keep Your Other Shooters, I Choose Splitgate
Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield are some of the biggest names in gaming and have been for some time. With all three franchises possessing at least a handful of games, these three series have dominated the shooter landscape for almost two decades. Despite this, competition is rife with the genre showing no signs of slowing down as new shooter titles are popping up all of the time.
Splitgate defies the idea that the first-person shooter genre has already been won, and it remains in competition with them. While the player base for Splitgate is obviously much smaller compared to Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield, the community’s members are confident in their choice of FPS game and believe it is the best offering out there.
1 When Not Even Halo Is Halo Anymore
Halo Infinite may have proven to be one of the best free PC shooting games, but it’s also proving to be polarizing amongst fan opinion. Splitgate obviously takes a lot of inspiration from the Halo series, particularly in the design of the actual player-controlled character designs.
Some people feel like Splitgate feels more like the Halo of old than newer entries like Guardians and Infinite. While some of the community may have been worried about games like Halo Infinite releasing and causing a drop-off in players for Splitgate, in actuality, the player base has seemed largely unaffected by the Xbox shooter’s release.
Splitgate is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
